The victim was reportedly standing on the sidewalk, holding the baby inside of a car seat when he was shot four times. The victim was hit in the back, face, neck, and chest. Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said, it appeared that the victim had been targeted.

The victim who police say was the baby’s uncle, collapsed on the sidewalk after the shooting. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died shortly after arrival. The baby was not injured, which Small said was “very, very, very lucky.” Police said the shooter may have fled in a nearby vehicle.

No suspects have been named and no arrests have been made at this time.
