The NBA suspended its regular season last night until further notice. Two games were postponed. The game between the Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder was postponed just before tip-off, when it was discovered that Utah Center, Rudy Gobert had tested positive for the Coronavirus, a few hours before tip-off. Gobert, allegedly was not in the building last night, but the Jazz organization didn’t take any chances. They decided to cancel the game and send all of the fans home.
Gobert allegedly didn’t take the virus seriously. At an after game press conference on Monday night, Gobert made light of the virus by touching the microphones and everything else at the table. Gobert most likely had no idea that he was positive for the virus at the time. Utah Jazz guard, Donovan Mitchell was diagnosed with the Coronavirus early this afternoon. It’s not clear if Mitchell contracted the virus thru Gobert or by some other means. After the NBA suspension of games, I expect other sports to follow shortly afterward. Including the March Madness NCAA Collegiate Tournament, who was already talking about having games without spectators present.
