Two police officers were reportedly shot in Newark, N.J. this afternoon. A CBS-3 Philly report said the incident happened on Van Velsor Place near Chancellor Avenue at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the report, the officers went to a residence on the block to serve a warrant. The suspect reportedly fired at the officers from the roof, or an upstairs window inside of the house. The two officers were rushed to the hospital where they were both reported to be in stable condition and recovering after sustaining suffering “non life-threatening” injuries.
The suspect is reportedly still at large.
