2 CONNECTICUT POLICE OFFICERS KILLED IN AMBUSH WITH AR-15 WIELDING GUNMAN

Two police officers were killed and a third officer was injured after they were reportedly ambushed by a suspect carrying an AR-15 last night. A report from Yahoo! said the officers were shot while reporting to a call for a possible domestic incident between two siblings on Wednesday night in Bristol, Connecticut.

Investigators said the situation was an ambush. Investigators said they believe the 911 call was made to lure police into an ambush by the suspects.

One suspect, Nicholas Brutcher, was shot and killed by police at the scene. Brutcher’s brother (no name given) was shot by police at the scene and taken to a hospital, where his condition was unreported at this time.

35-year old, Police Sgt., Dustin Demonte and 34-year old, Police Officer, Alex Hamzy, were both killed in the deadly ambush. 26-year old, Police Officer, Alec Lurato, was wounded during the ambush. His injuries were not reported, but Lurato was reportedly released from the hospital on Thursday morning, to an awaiting crowd of supporters who applauded his exit from the hospital.

Flags in Connecticut were ordered to be lowered to half-staff on Thursday, in memory of the fallen officers. An investigation is ongoing…
