An 81-year old man was reportedly carjacked in broad daylight as he parked his car to grab some lunch in the Wyoming section of the city, about two weeks ago. MyChesCo reported that the incident happened right in front of Sid Booker’s Shrimp located on the 4600 block of North Broad Street, on May 9th.
The victim was reportedly approached by a man as he exited his car and walked over to the restaurant to place his order. The suspect was walking North on Broad Street as he approached the victim. He walked right past the victim before entering the victim’s car, before proceeding to hide in the back seat of the victim’s car, while the victim was busy placing his order.
When the victim returned to the car, the suspect put a gun to the back of his head and demanded his keys. The police report said a brief struggle ensued between the two, before the victim eventually decided to exit the vehicle. The suspect fled with the victim’s car.
No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made at this time.
