19-year old Elijah Simmons, and his 32-year old girlfriend, Caresa Mcfarland, were both formally charged in connection with the shooting of Elijah Simmons’ 13-year old brother. A KYW NEWS RADIO report said the incident happened on Saturday evening at around 7:30 p.m., inside of a home right off of Dauphin Street, on Woodstock Street in North Philly.
Police reportedly found the 13-year old inside of the home, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to the hospital, and was last reported to be in extremely critical condition. Police called the shooting “accidental”, but Simmons is facing several charges, including aggravated assault. Mcfarland was charged with reckless endangerment.
