City officials said a new telephone number in Philadelphia is designed to provide “real-time resources” to critical violence prevention and intervention services. A report from 6 ABC ACTION NEWS said the announcement was made on Monday.

Officials described the new service as, a number city residents can call to access specialized resources to help resolve a potentially dangerous situation before it turns violent. Some uses for the new number include:
Conflict Intervention
Youth Violence Prevention
Peer Counseling
After-school programs, mentoring services, and academic support services
And a host of other services.
