21-year old, Avery Nascimento is behind bars this morning, and charged with the murder of his girlfriend’s 36-year old ex-boyfriend, and the attempted murder of his girlfriend, who survived being shot multiple times by Nascimento. According to a report from TRUE CRIME DAILY, the incident took place inside of the home of Nascimento’s 34-year old girlfriend, Sodonia Medunic, on the 100 block of Sheridan Street on Sunday, January 23rd.

Pottstown Police said they were called to the address on Sheridan Street for multiple reports of gunshots coming from the home. Police say they found Medunic outside of her home. She was suffering from “apparent” gunshot wounds. Her ex-boyfriend, Sean Robbins, was found inside of the home, deceased…from one gunshot wound to the head. Medunic was rushed to the hospital for treatment. The report didn’t say where, or how many times she was shot, but the report did say that she was expected to survive.

After piecing information together, police believe Medunic and Nascimento were in a “romantic relationship.” While at her home on the night of January 23rd, Nascimento got into an argument with Medunic about some photos on her cell phone. The District Attorney’s Office said the argument quickly erupted into a physical altercation. Nascimento allegedly hit, choked, and pointed a gun at her while telling her that she “was going to die tonight.”
Robbins reportedly learned of the fight (the report doesn’t say how). He rushed over to Medunic’s home to intervene. Robbins and Nascimento reportedly attempted to talk things out, but somewhere along the way, an argument began. Once again, the argument quickly turned physical. The fight ended with a single bullet in Robbins’ head. Medunic attempted to flee when she saw Robbins get killed. She made an attempt to escape, but was gunned down right on her front steps. She “played dead” after being hit multiple times. Nascimento allegedly fled the scene at that point.
Nascimento has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, strangulation, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, and related offenses. He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 2nd.
