21-year old Zerail Rivera was murdered as he was live streaming on Instagram last week. Rivera, who is known to some by his rap stage name, “Indian Red Boy,” was killed on July 8th while sitting in his car, which was parked on Chadron Avenue in Hawthorne, according to a report from People Magazine.

Police say Hawthorne officers responded to a call of a shooting at around 4:10 pm last Thursday. They found Rivera “slumped in the front seat of a vehicle parked in the carport to the rear of the building.” Police say Rivera appeared to be suffering from multiple gunshot wounds when they arrived. Fire rescue also responded to the shooting call. Rivera was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooter, or shooters have not been identified.

“It appears to have been a walk up shooting and he appears to have been targeted.”

Hawthorne Police Lieutenant, TI Goetz told reporters at a press conference. He also said that the shooting may have been gang related. Rivera was talking to a friend on Instagram live when he was ambushed.
