PHILADELPHIA, PA
Philadelphia police say two women were sitting on the front steps of an apartment building in West Philly on Tuesday night, when a shooter fired on them.

Officers were called to the area of 46th & Walnut Streets at around 11:30pm for multiple reports of a shooting. Fox 29 Philly (https://www.fox29.com/), reported that Chief Inspector Scott Small said two women, who are believed to be related, were sitting on the steps when they were both shot at close range. A 36-year old woman was shot in the face, chest, and torso. She was taken to Penn-Presbyterian Hospital. The woman was pronounced dead shortly before midnight. A 33-year old woman suffered non-fatal gunshot wounds to the legs.
Investigators say they found 20 spent shell casings. Some of the spent rounds came from a rifle, investigators say. Police say one, or both, of the women were the intended target. Chief Small said investigators were still working to find a motive and suspect.
