ELKINS PARK, PENNSYLVANIA
The state of Pennsylvania’s highest court overturned Bill Cosby’s 2018 conviction for sexual assault on Wednesday. The court ruled that Cosby was denied a fair trial when prosecutors broke a promise they made with Cosby, not to criminally charge him for this crime. This technicality, or mistake on someone’s part, helped the 83-year old, Cosby to walk freely from prison this afternoon.

The Philadelphia Inquirer(https://www.inquirer.com/), reported that one of the deciding judges wrote a 79-page opinion on the court’s decision.
“He must be discharged, and any future prosecution on these particular charges must be barred. We do not dispute that this remedy is both severe and rare. But it is warranted here, indeed compelled”
Justice David Wetch wrote in the 79-page opinion. Prosecutors did not yet indicate if they will appeal the high court’s decision.
