A federal judge ordered that boxer, Felix Vardejo be held without bail after being charged in the of his pregnant, 27-year old girlfriend.

According to a report from 7 WHIO Daytona(https://www.whio.com/), Verdejo has been charged with kidnapping and carjacking resulting in the death of Keishla Rodriguez, and intentionally killing his unborn child. Verdejo made a court appearance on Monday with a translator in tow. He did not make any comments during the virtual hearing.

A criminal complaint filed by the F.B.I against Verdejo. sheds a little more light on the incident. The complaint accuses Verdejo of punching Rodriguez in the face. He then injected her with a syringe filled with an unidentified substance. The complaint says Verdejo purchased the contents inside of the syringe at a public housing complex.

The criminal complaint goes on to say that he then bound her arms and feet with wire. Investigators said that Verdejo then tied a heavy brick to her before throwing her off a bridge at 8:30 am on Thursday. Verdejo pulled out his gun and shot at the body afterwards. Rodriguez was reported missing after failing to show up for work on Thursday. Her body was found in a lagoon near San Juan on Saturday. Officials identified her body on Sunday, via dental records.
