MINNEAPOLIS, MN 5/29/2020 1:44pm(est)
Derek Chauvin, the police officer who murdered George Floyd by preventing him from breathing, was arrested on Friday. According to the Public Safety Commissioner, John Harrington, state investigators made the arrest.

The arrest comes after three nights of protesting in the streets of Minnesota got the attention of city officials, who just yesterday said they were reviewing all of the evidence to see if the incident warranted an arrest. Chauvin did not act alone. There were at least three other officers who participated, or watched as Mr. Floyd begged for air. No word yet on if any charges will be brought against any other officers involved. There’s also no word yet on what Chauvin is being charged with. The news is still breaking and all over the place at the moment, so instead of going with rumors, I’ll just stick to the facts. Hopefully I will have more when I learn more. Stay tuned!
