As Michigan state legislators met inside the State’s Capitol Building to debate whether Michigan Governor’s Gretchen Whitmer’s stay at home order should be extended beyond today, hundreds of protesters, many of whom were armed with automatic weapons gathered outside in protest of the stay-at-home order. A group of the armed protesters made their way inside the building and confronted Capitol Police. They yelled and shouted to be let into the chambers, which are closed to the public due to social distancing rules. The protesters yelled, urging the legislators to vote “no.”

ABC News (abcnews) reported, the legislature’s decision will not affect the Governor’s stay-at-home order. The order was put in place on March 24 and is set to stay in effect until at least May 15th. That little piece of information did not deter the group of protesters, many of whom left their masks and gloves at home, but brought their guns……for protection???

“I have never appreciated our Sergeants -At-Arms more than today”, said Michigan Senator Dayna Polehanki.
