One of my favorite tv shows is back for a 5th season and I’m more than excited! Well, it’s the 5th season altogether. This is the second season of Narcos Mexico, which was just as interesting as Narcos Colombia in my opinion.
If you remember, season 1 of Mexico was about how Miguel Angel built the very first organized Cartel in Mexico. Before Miguel there were just a bunch of crews from different cities fighting one another for power and control of the drug trade. Miguel brought all of the crews together to form one big Cartel, and together with the help of crooked government officials and crooked police, the Cartel ran everything that moved in Mexico. Things were good when they were just growing and moving weed. The problems started when Miguel decided that he wanted to deal in cocaine. With the DEA on their every move, some Cartel members made a move against DEA agent Kiki Camerrena. Cartel members kidnapped, tortured, and killed Kiki. The DEA declared war. They took down a bunch of the cartel’s shotcallers, including Miguel’s original weed partner Rafael, who was charged with agent Camerrena’s murder. Miguel managed to escape a murder charge because of his ability to blackmail high level officials in the Mexican and American governments. The DEA is not happy about Miguel going scott free and they send reinforcements to Mexico to continue the war against Miguel and what’s left of his Cartel…….and that’s where season 2 begins! Season 2 of Narcos Mexico is currently playing on Netflix. Check out the trailer for season 2 of Narcos Mexico below:
