Justin Timberlake will perform at halftime of Super Bowl LII in 2018. Timberlake’s appearance was announced last night before Sunday Night football. Those of us who are old enough, remember that Timberlake played a big part in the “wardrobe malfunction” Super Bowl debacle at the 2004 Super Bowl with Janet Jackson. That Super Bowl appearance caused the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) to implicate a five second television delay during live performances. 13 years after the history making debacle, Timberlake has been invited back to the Super Bowl to perform. I wonder if he will pull off the ultimate shocker and bring Janet Jackson out during his performance?
The attacks against Rep. Frederica Wilson by White House staff were purposely plotted and carried out by Donald Trump, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and John Kelly. The remarks by the trio and other staff were intended to defend Trump by calling the Congresswoman childish names and making claims that she was somehow the worst person on earth. These adults, and other White House staff were well aware of what their purposeful and premeditated comments would do beforehand. It was part of the plan. Rile up the base by giving them someone to attack and a false reason to attack that person, all while deflecting from the true fact that Donald Trump got caught lying…..once again. Do you honestly believe that they didn’t know that a base that was jacked up on hate and racism would do anything other than make death threats against a black woman for simply having the audacity to tell the truth? Do you think the White House even cared about the backlash from their childish and hateful words? Most likely they didn’t. This administration never seems to bother worrying about the repercussions of their child-like actions and statements, or understand the power that the office of the president of the United States really holds. Positive or negative.
CBS News (@cbsnews) reports that the Congresswoman’s office was bombarded with calls of death threats after Trump, Sanders, and Kelly’s separate but equally childish and hateful comments directed at Ms. Wilson. Her staff told CBS that the calls were directly related to the phone call from Trump to Sgt. La David Johnson’s widow Myeshia Johnson. The Congresswoman’s staff said they alerted the Capital Police, Miami Garden Police and the threat division of the U.S. House Of Representatives. I can only guess that other than threatening the Congresswoman’s life, the calls were mostly racially motivated. The White House basically sent a message out to their racially charged and biased base. Attack anyone who has the nerve to disagree with anything Trump says. And that’s exactly what they did to Ms. Wilson. So far no one has been arrested in relation to the crime. I’ll keep you posted if anything changes, as this is a story I will continue to watch and follow very closely.
Did the Phoenix Suns star point guard send out an S.O.S distress call via Twitter yesterday? Many seemed to think so when Bledsoe Tweeted “I don’t want to be here.” If he was requesting a trade from the Suns via Twitter, can you really blame him? The Suns are terrible. I’ve seen teams built full of random strangers on the playground who’ve had more chemistry together than the Suns. The Suns sole strategy seems to get the ball and shoot. Don’t matter if you’re open, guarded, or double teamed, just shoot the ball! Everybody looks like they’re out there trying to put up 70 points. I watched two Suns games this season that amazingly happened to be televised broadcast in my area. Two blowouts. I stand by what I Tweeted a few nights ago. “Phoenix is the place where NBA careers go at to die. If you’re traded to the Suns, you might as well just retire now.” Suns ownership seemed to agree with my statement. They fired head coach Earl Watson last night after only three games played so far this season. Firing the coach is a start, but it won’t be enough. The Suns are out there barely playing organized ball. Bledsoe should get out, especially if he wants to win more than 10 games this season. Many teams would love to have him, including his former squad the Los Angeles Clippers. Clipper starting center Deandre Jordan took to Twitter to send out a message that I believe was directed at Bledsoe, telling him to come on back home.
Myeshia Johnson, widow of Sgt. La David Johnson who was killed in an ambush in Niger, went on Good Morning America to speak about her husband. Mrs. Johnson also confirmed Congresswoman Wilson’a account of the widow’s phone call with the president of the United States. Donald Trump immediately took to Twitter to deny and dispute the claim of the Gold Star widow.
“I had a very respectful conversation with the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, and spoke his name from beginning, without hesitation!”
Three different women riding in the car while the conversation between the president and Mrs. Johnson took place. Mrs. Johnson had the conversation on speakerphone for every person riding in the car to hear. Three different woman all gave the same account of the conversation. Those three women were black. The president and his followers have somehow managed to make sense out of attacking these women for telling the truth. Two of the women were Gold Star family members.(La David’s mother and wife) The same people attacking these black women are the very same people who were outraged by the NFL protest, claiming…….it was disrespectful to our military. So, kneeling for the National Anthem is disrespectful to the military, but disrespecting the widow of a Sgt. that died fighting for this Country is not? Or does military service only matter to these people if you are white? It’s a sad state this Country is in today, and it gets sadder and more divided by the day. Each lie the president tells manages to divide this Country more…..Anyway, here’s the video of Mrs. Johnson speaking about her husband and the phone call with the president on GMA this morning.

Actor Shia LaBeouf has been sentenced to probation and anger management related to a drunkenness arrest back in June. LaBeouf was sentenced in Savannah Georgia on Thursday after pleading guilty to obstruction, and no contest to disorderly conduct. TMZ (@tmz) reports the original drunkenness charge was tossed out.
LaBeouf was arrested in Georgia while he was there filming the movie “The Peanut Butter Falcon.” The Los Angeles Times(@latimes) reports that before he was arrested, LaBeouf asked a bystander and a police officer for a cigarette at around 4am. After he was refused, LaBeouf began using profanity and vulgar language, and refused to leave the area. The police officer on the scene reported that LaBeouf acted aggressively toward him when he was ordered to leave. Lebeouf fled to a hotel when the officer attempted to arrest him. He was taken into custody a little later on inside of the hotel lobby.
Glass artist John Garofalo was outed as a fraud after he appeared in a segment on Fox News channel. Garofalo created a giant presidential seal that he had hoped to present to the president personally. Garofalo claimed that he was a Vietnam veteran, a member of the first U.S. Navy Seals team, and a decorated war hero who was awarded two purple hearts. Newsweek (@Newsweek) reports that in it’s retraction, Fox News stated “Unfortunately, all of Garofalo’s claims turned out to be untrue.” The statement goes on to say “the fact is that he did not serve in Vietnam. He was never a U.S. Navy Seal. Even though he showed us medals, Garofalo was not awarded two purple hearts or any of the other nearly two dozen commendations he claimed to have received, except for the National Defense Service Medal.” Garofalo was exposed as a fraud by former Navy Seals who reached out to Fox News so they could correct the record, according to the Military Times.
When contacted by the Military Times Garofalo admitted he was a fraud and had carried on the charade as a Vietnam vet and Navy Seal for years.
“What I did I’m ashamed of, and I didn’t mean to cause so much disgrace to the Seals.” Garofalo added that the lie got “bigger and bigger” over time.
