27-year old, Isaac Zayas, was charged with murdering his Uncle, 56-year old, firefighter, Antonio Rodriguez, on Thursday.
A report from Fox-29 Philadelphia said police were called to a home on the 4700 block of Shelmire Avenue at around 4 a.m. on Wednesday morning, for a report of a person with a gun.
First responding police officers at the scene reported finding Zayas locked inside of the home’s front porch. Once inside of the home, police found the unresponsive victim, Antonio Rodriguez. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said they did not know how Rodriguez died, but Zayas admitted to killing his Uncle when police confronted him at the front porch.
Rodriguez had been a member of the Philadelphia Fire Department for 18-years.
