28-year old, Former Mays Fire Department Landing Treasurer, Matthew Robinson is being accused of stealing nearly $17,000 from the department.
A report from 6-ABC Action News said the theft is alleged to have happened between January of 2024 to the beginning of this year.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said Robinson transferred, withdrew and spent the $17,000 he’s been accused of stealing. Prosecutors said Robinson admitted to spending the money on “personal goods”. Robinson is also being accused of adjusting his records to hide the transactions.
