Former FBI Director, James Comey , was indicted on Thursday and charged with making false statements before the Senate Judiciary Committee in 2020 and obstruction of justice. This, after Trump demanded that the Justice Department act “now” to prosecute Trump’s political foes, including Comey, just two days ago.
A report from 6-ABC Action News said Comey is scheduled to appear for arraignment on October 9th.
Comey spoke about the charges via Instagram after learning of the charges against him.
““My heart is broken for the Department Of Justice. I have great confidence in the judicial system and I am innocent, so let’s have trial, and keep the failth”, Comey said in a short video posted to his Instagram account on Thursday.
