Former Philadelphia Eagles running back, Wendell Smallwood.was sentenced for his role in tax fraud related to Pandemic relief programs.
A report from CBS-Sports said Smallwood was sentenced to 18-months on Thursday September 18, 2025. He was also ordered to pay $645,000 in restitution.
The report went on to say that Smallwood was sentenced on Thursday after pleading guilty to wire fraud, tax fraud and submitting false applications for nonexistent or defunct business to collect over $500,000 in Covid relief funds. Smallwood pleaded guilty in December of 2024.
