24-year old, suspected stalker, Matthew James Ruth, reportedly shot and killed three police officers who showed up to his farmland to arrest him on the charges yesterday.
A report from 6-ABC Action News said the shooting happened inside of Ruth’s girlfriend’s farm home in North Codorus Township, P.A., at around 2:10 p.m. on Wednesday morning.
Authorities said, plainclothes detectives wearing bullet proof vests, opened the door to the home and were immediately sprayed with bullets from the AK-47 equipped with a suppressor that Ruth possessed. The suspect killed 3 police officers during the initial barrage, before a gunfight between the suspect and other officers began.
The gunfight ended with police shooting and killing Ruth. Authorities said the dog inside of the home was also shot and killed.
