A report from 6-ABC Action News said the incident happened after the high-speed police chase ended in Whitehall Township on July 23.

Police said the high-speed chase started after Kravitz threatened a woman with a gun and fled from police officers. The Chase ended when Kravitz hit two cars with his pickup truck before coming to rest in the front yard of a home. Kravitz got out of the vehicle with his hands in the air and no weapon in his hand as he attempted to surrender to pursuing police officers. That was when Carvajal reportedly approached Kravitz, who still had his hands up, and pistol-whipped him in the face with the muzzle of his police issued firearm. Kravitz was treated for lacerations at the hospital before being taken to jail and slapped with multiple charges related to the incident with the gun and the high-speed chase.

Carvajal was charged with aggravated assault and simple assault. He was released on an unsecured bond. Carvajal was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of this case.
