A report from 6-ABC Action News said the incident happened at the Brandy Melville store located at 15th & Walnut Streets at around 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said an unidentified 41-year old man entered the store and began stealing items. After repeatedly going behind the counter and refusing to leave the store when asked by employees, he was approached by the store’s security guard. By the time the security guard arrived, the man was attacking anyone who came near him. The security guard attempted to subdue the suspect with pepper-spray, to no avail. The security guard said he fired one “warning” shot that was not intended to, and did not strike anyone.

The suspect was apprehended a few blocks away by Philadelphia Police.
