A Bensalem Police Officer reportedly shot a man who was fleeing after crashing his motorcycle during a police pursuit this afternoon.
A report from NBC-10 Philly said the shooting incident happened on Route-13 near Woodhaven Road at around 5:45 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
Police said the incident began when the motorcycle driver and a driver of a unnamed vehicle got into a dispute on Route-13 near Woodhaven Road. During the dispute the motorcyclist pulled out a handgun and threatened the passengers inside of the vehicle. They immediately called police as they continued their dispute with the motorcyclist. Police pulled up on the dispute a few moments later, where the dispute had moved down to Route-13 near Park Avenue. The motorcyclist attempted to flee the scene when he saw police approaching. His bike slid and hit the police cruiser. The motorcyclist took off on foot immediately afterward. The police officer shot the motorcyclist as he ran away, allegedly with a gun in his right hand…And slightly turned toward the officer while fleeing from him.
The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital where he was last reported to be in stable condition. No police officers were injured during the incident. The suspect’s injuries and where he was shot were not immediately reported.
