At least 11-people were reportedly wounded during a mass shooting inside of a bar in South Philadelphia early this morning.
A report from 6-ABC Action News said the shooting happened at the 7 Elements Restaurant Bar & Lounge located on the 100 block of South 11th Street at around 3:50 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Eight people were taken to the hospital by private vehicles. Police rushed three people to nearby hospitals. A security guard was reportedly shot in the face and a woman was reportedly shot in the back. Both victims were last reported to be in critical condition. A possible motive for the shooting was not reported.
Police were attempting to find out what was going on inside of the bar at that hour because bars and other establishments that serve alcohol in the city are supposed to close at 2:00 a.m.
““This business should not be open that late, and upon arrival it was shut, and we had to ensure no other victims were inside”, said Philadelphia Police Inspector, D.F. Pace.
Police said they recovered multiple shell casings left on the second floor of the bar, the stairway that leads to the streets, and in the parking lot below the bar.
