41-year old, Akhenaton Jones was found guilty of murdering 27-year old, Dominique Rem’mie Fells, a transgender woman in 2020.

According to a report from NBC-10 Philadelphia, said Jones was also convicted of possession of an instrument of crime and abuse of a corpse.

The body of Dominique Rem’mie Fells was found floating in the Schuylkill River on June 8, 2020. She had been stabbed in the torso 40-times. Three days later her legs were found along the banks of the river.

Witnesses told police that Fells and Jones spent time together at his home on June 6, 2020. The witnesses told police they left the home when Fells and Jones went into the bedroom together. The witnesses said when they returned they found Fells dead on the bed with blood inside the room.

Investigators obtained a search warrant to search Jones’ house, where they found a white bloody Hazmat suit, a knife, and an electric saw. Investigators also obtained a video showing Jones carrying a trash can and trash bags containing Fells’ remains to a white van. Further surveillance video showed Jones driving the van to the Schuylkill River where he dumped the remains.
