A report from 6-ABC Action News said the weekend’s incidents started at around 7:00 p.m. on Saturday when Temple Police responded to a large group of juveniles gathered in the area of Broad Street & Cecil B. Moore Avenue.
Police said the crowd was orderly, but that changed as the evening went along. One Temple student was assaulted near Temple Towers at 12th Street & Montgomery Avenue. That student was last reported to be having their injuries evaluated. Another student reported being pushed to the ground. Multiple arrests were reported.
Temple Police said they are adding more police to patrol the area during this week’s summer break. Police are still investigating the weekend’s incidents and searching for multiple suspects.
