Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley signed a contract extension this afternoon that will keep the league’s leading rusher with the team for another two years after the current one expires.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Barkley signed a 2 year, $41.2 million contract extension on Tuesday afternoon.
The deal makes Barkley the highest paid RB in the NFL. He is also the first back to have a $20 million-plus per year contract. Barkley’s deal includes $36 million fully guaranteed and Barkley also has the ability to earn another $15 million in incentives.
Barkley is going into the 2nd year of his original 3-year deal to come to the Birds.
