A report from North Central P.A.com said the incident began on January 31st as the victim was walking his dog near the Heatherbrook Estates. Shawn Marrandino from Philadelphia approached the victim and asked “Are you giving me a smirk?”
Police said Marrandino then punched him in the face 10 to 12 times inside of one of the apartments in the estate. Police said the victim attempted to block the punches, but did not swing back. The victim sported a fresh black eye as he gave police his account of the assault.
Marrandino was detained by police shortly after the assault. Marrandino acknowledged the assault, but would not provide police with any details. He was charged with simple assault and harassment.
Marrandino is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on March 14th.
