A report from 6-ABC Action News said Pitts was accused of assaulting Obina Oniyah in 2010. The assault caused Oniyah to confess to the robbery and murder of William Glitz at a jewelry store. A crime Oniyah did not commit.
Pitts was found guilty of obstruction and perjury.
