Police said the pair wrapped a chain around the ATM that was secured to the floor with wires. Then they wrapped the other end of the chain to the minivan before yanking the machine out of the floor.
“They went outside and hooked the chain to the back of a minivan. One of the males got into the minivan while the other one held the door open to the Chinese take-out, and were able to pull the ATM”, said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector, Scott Small.
The pair drove away heading South on 8th Street. The incident was captured on surveillance video. Police said the duo appear to be experienced thieves. The owner of the restaurant said there was around $2000 inside of the ATM. No description of the suspects were given and no arrests have been made at this time.
