A report from 6-ABC Action News said the shooting happened on the 300 block of West Upsal Street at around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday night.
According to police, the woman was sitting in her car when the ex-boyfriend pulled up alongside her and opened fire. The woman sped off, but didn’t get far before crashing into a parked car, causing her car to flip over. Firefighters were called in to remove the victim from the wreckage with the jaws of life. The victim is expected to survive.
Police said they are looking for a 39-year old male in connection to the incident, but has not yet released his identity. Police reports show that officers responded to a report of a domestic incident between the pair around two hours before the shooting incident.
