A passenger in an Uber was reportedly killed when the vehicle crashed into a tractor trailer in the Ogontz section of the city earlier this week.
A report from CBS-3 Philly said the incident happened at Nedro & Ogontz Avenues at around 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday night.
According to police, the 32-year old Uber driver crashed into a parked tractor trailer near the intersection. The driver and passenger were both rushed to Jefferson Einstein Hospital where the passenger was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. The driver, who was reportedly pregnant, was last reported to be in stable condition.
The cause of the accident has not yet been determined. No charges against the driver have been filed at this time.
