74-year old school crossing guard, Bruce Morlack, from Burlington City, N.J., has reportedly passed away after being hit by a vehicle on Friday morning.

BURLINGTON CITY, N.J: A CROSSING GUARD WAS STRUCK BY A CAR AND KILLED WHILE ON THR JOB FRIDAY MORNING/PHOTO: WHYY

A report from 6-ABC Action News said the incident happened while Morlack was on the job near Burlington City High School at around 7:30 a.m. on Friday morning.

The incident was captured on video. Police said you can see Morlack enter the crosswalk with a stop sign raised as he was assisting students crossing on Jacksonville Road. Then a red vehicle enters view driving through and narrowly missing Morlack. The kids had to jump out of the way to prevent being hit also. Then a white car appears and strikes Morlack. The driver pulled over and got out of the vehicle. The kids made it across the street safely. Morlack was rushed to Capital Health hospital in Trenton where he died on Saturday.

Police said the driver of the white vehicle was cooperating with the investigation. No word on if any charges will be filed at this time.
