A report from 6-ABC Action News said firefighters were called to the 2400 block of North 17th Street at around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.
The blaze and heavy smoke were coming from a 3-story rowhome on the block. Firefighters reportedly had the blaze under control in 17 minutes. At that point, the body of an unidentified male was discovered on the third floor of the home. A second person was found on the second floor and rushed to Temple University Hospital. Their condition was not reported.
The Fire Department said they did not hear any smoke detectors going off.
