36-year old, Junior Boucher, is in police custody and charged with first-degree murder for the brutal beating death of 65-year old, Brian Hitebeital, who police say Boucher beat to death with his own golf clubs at a golf course in West Palm Beach, Fl. earlier this week.

A report from 6-ABC Action News said the incident happened at the Sandhill Crane Golf Club in West Palm Beach on Monday.

Witnesses reported hearing Hitebeital yelling “he’s trying to kill me!” while running from Boucher on the course. Boucher caught up to Hitebeital and began beating him over the head with his own golf club. Hitebeital continued running as he was being beat in the head. He ran right into a pond near the course’s first hole. Boucher jumped in and continued beating the victim in the water, before attempting to choke him. Boucher allegedly continued hitting the victim with the club even after he stopped moving. Boucher then got out of the water and stripped off his clothes before fleeing, according to witnesses.

Police pulled the victim from the water when they arrived on scene and reported finding the victim suffering from several deep lacerations to the back of the head and on his person. Hitebeital was pronounced dead at the scene. Boucher was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit and being tased. He was charged with 1st degree murder and related charges. Police said the incident appears to be a random act of violence since the two men have no connection and did not appear to know one another.
