A report from NBC-10 Philly said the incident happened at the intersection of Germantown & Lehigh Avenues at around 3:15 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Police said the victim was crossing the street with her husband when she was struck by a speeding car heading westbound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Responding police officers found the vehicle in question parked on Park Avenue & Lehigh Avenue shortly after the incident. The driver was taken into custody at Temple University Hospital. Investigators said the female suspect was intoxicated and driving with her lights off at the time of the crash.
