26-year old, Singer, Jada Arnell Thomas, was reportedly shot by a woman in the crowd after her performance at The Black Academy Of Arts & Letters, in Dallas, Tx., over the weekend.
A report from NBC News said a woman in the crowd shot Thomas on stage while she was signing autographs after her performance on Saturday. Thomas was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was last reported to be in stable condition.
Police arrested 26-year old, Micah Williams, shortly after the shooting of Thomas. A handgun was recovered during Williams’ arrest. She was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A possible motive for the shooting was not reported, and it is not known if the two knew one another at this time.
Event staff followed Williams outside of the venue and to a nearby hotel after the shooting. That was where Williams was taken into custody by police. A preliminary trial date for Williams was not reported.
