A 42-year old woman was reportedly struck and killed by a hit & run driver in the Fairhill section of North Philly yesterday.

A report from 6-ABC Action News said the incident happened at 5th Street & West Indiana Avenue at around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
Police said a silver Hyundai Sonata was traveling at a high rate of speed on 5th Street and attempted a turn at Indiana Avenue, when the victim was struck. Investigators believe the car tried to swerve around the victim, but ended up hitting her. The car continued traveling on the sidewalk after striking the victim, hitting a pillar and several parked cars before coming to a stop. Witnesses said up to three passengers fled the vehicle on foot after the incident. The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
