DonateDonate monthlyDonate yearlyOne person is dead and another is injured after two suspects crashed into a SEPTA bus after participating in a shootout inside of a corner store in the Mantua section of the city last night.

A report from 6-ABC Action News said the incident happened at 40th & Brown Streets at around 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday night.
An unidentified suspect and a 17-year old attempted to rob a man inside of the corner store. The robbers realized they picked the wrong victim when he began firing on the robbers, beginning an exchange of gunfire between the suspects and the victim. The 17-year old was reportedly shot multiple times during the incident. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where police said he is expected to survive. The victim of the attempted robbery was shot and killed during the shootout.
Police said the entire incident was captured on surveillance video. There was no news on the 2nd robbery suspect.
