A report from 6-ABC Action News said the arrest of Martin was pronounced on Thursday morning by District Attorney, Kevin Steele, months after the event that took place on May 15, 2024.
Investigators said Martin took two guns out of a bag and placed them on the bed inside of the Pottstown home. Martin told police that he sat on the bed and was using his phone when he heard the shot. The child suffered multiple injuries, including broken ribs and a damaged lung. The child survived the shooting.
Bail for Martin was set at $50,000 unsecured, with a provision that no firearms be kept in the home.
