The body of a deceased man was found on the grounds of Martin Luther King High School in the Mount Airy section of the city last night. Another person was also reportedly shot and injured in the same area last night, according to police.
A report from 6-ABC Action News said the discovery was made after a passerby called police to report a man who appeared to be passed out on the school’s grounds located on the 6100 block of Stenton Avenue at around 11:45 p.m. on Sunday night.
First arriving police at the scene discovered that the victim was suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said the male victim appears to be in his 20’s.
Around the same time that police discovered the deceased victim, another male walked into Einstein Medical Center suffering from gunshot wounds. He was reportedly shot on the 1300 block of Price Street, not far from where the first victim was discovered. The victim’s current condition was not reported.
Detectives were piecing information together as they attempt to determine if the two shootings are connected. No suspects were named and no arrests have been reported in either shooting at this time.
