A 33-year old man was reportedly shot multiple times and killed and a 9-year old boy was shot and injured during a shooting in North Philadelphia yesterday.

A report from 6-ABC Action News said the shooting happened on the 600 block of North 12th Street at around 6:15 p.m. on Friday evening.
Police said the victim was walking down 12th Street near Fairmount Avenue when he was ambushed by at least two gunmen. The victim ran and looked for cover behind a Hyundai that was parked nearby. An adult male and a 9-year old boy were sitting in the parked Hyundai. The assailants kept firing at the victim as he did so, hitting the child inside the car as well as the victim.
The 33-year old male was rushed to a nearby hospital suffering from multiple gunshots. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. The 9-year old boy was shot once in the leg. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was last reported to be in stable condition. The adult male sitting in the Hyundai was not injured.
Police said the suspects fled the scene in a black Jeep SUV. No arrests have been made at this time. An investigation is ongoing.
