Police reportedly responded to a home in Paris, T.X., on Saturday August 10th, at around noon for a call to assist EMS at a home in the area. Once police were on the scene they were told that the infant’s father had given him gasoline to drink. Officers spotted Bridgemon as he attempted to flee the scene. He was captured after a brief foot pursuit and arrested. Once in custody, Bridgemon admitted to giving the infant gasoline to drink because he was trying to kill the infant. The child was rushed to a nearby hospital, before being transferred to a facility in Dallas for further care. The infant’s current condition was not reported.
Bridgemon was charged with attempted Capital murder and evading arrest. He is currently being held at the county jail on a $255,000 bond.
