A homeless man reportedly shot and injured an armed robber during an attempted robbery in the Kensington section of the city last night.

PHILADELPHIA, P.A: A 35-YEAR OLD MAN WAS SHOT & CRITICALLY WOUNDED AFTER THE HOMELESS MAN HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO ROB, SHOT HIM ON SOMERSET STREET IN KENSINGTON ON MONDAY NIGHT/PHOTO: 6-ABC ACTION NEWS

A report from 6-ABC Action News said the incident happened near the intersection of A & East Somerset Streets at around 8:00 p.m. on Monday night.

Police said a 35-year old man approached the homeless man with a BB gun and attempted to rob him. The homeless man reportedly pulled out his own real gun and shot the suspect in the back. The homeless man fled the scene after the shooting. The 35-year old man was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was last reported to be in critical condition.

No charges have been filed at this time.
