A mass shooting in West Philadelphia early this morning left nine people shot. Three of those shot were reportedly killed.

A report from 6-ABC Action News said the shooting happened on the 1200 block of North Alden Street at around 2:00 a.m. om Sunday morning.
Police believe that more than 100 people were gathered when shots rang out.
“We’re not sure if it was a block party or just simply a group of individuals that were invited from other parts of the city. It’s not clear at this time”, said Philadelphia Police Inspector, D.F. Pace.
Police have not released any information about the victims except for the ages of the three deceased (23, 29, 33). The six surviving victims were all last reported to be in stable condition. Police believe 25-30 shots were fired at the scene by multiple shooters.
“It appears that there were multiple shooters, but it’s unclear at this time how many. We have counted at least 25-30 spent shell casings at this time” Inspector Pace added.
A gun was recovered at the scene but no arrests were made and no suspects have been named at this time. An investigation is ongoing.
