A report from ABC News said law enforcement investigating the shooting said, the suspect was spotted on the roof of a building outside of the security zone at the rally at around 5:52 p.m. The suspect reported began firing at 6:12 p.m.
A timeline of Crooks’ movement before the shooting shows Crooks was first identified as “a person of Interest” by the Secret Service at 5:10 p.m. Crooks was spotted with a range finder at 5:30 p.m. Crooks was spotted on the roof of the building by Secret Service at 5:52 p.m. Former President Donald Trump took the stage at 6:02 p.m. Crooks began firing shots at 6:12 p.m.
From the time Crooks fired his first shot, until the time he was shot and killed was just 26 seconds. Eleven seconds after the first shot Secret Service Counter Snipers acquired their target. 15 seconds later, Crooks was shot dead.
