A Philadelphia Police officer was reportedly injured after being struck by a Slingshot motorcycle during a hit-and-run incident in North Philadelphia yesterday.

A report from Fox-29 Philly said the incident happened near the intersection of Broad Street & Germantown Avenue at around 7:43 p.m. on Sunday evening.
Police said the officer, who was riding on a dirtbike as he was assigned to the police’s ATV Detail, was reportedly traveling northbound on Broad Street when he was struck by a Polaris Slingshot that was also traveling north on Broad Street. The vehicle fled after the accident, causing a police pursuit. The officer was transported to Temple University Hospital where he was last reported to be in stable condition after being treated for an injured ankle.
The driver of the Slingshot was apprehended on the 4600 block of Wymouth Street shortly afterward. Charges against the Slingshot driver were still pending.
