A 20-year old woman was found unresponsive inside of a home in North Philadelphia early this morning. Police believe the young woman’s death was the result of a domestic violence incident between the victim and a 22-year old male, who is currently in police custody.

A report from Fox-29 Philly said police were called to a home on the 1400 block of Willington Street at around 4 a.m. on Saturday morning for a report of a medical emergency.

First responding police officers at the scene reported finding a 20-year old unresponsive woman on the second floor of the home. Police said the victim was suffering from “apparent blunt-force trauma”. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the incident was related to a domestic violence episode, but did not elaborate any further at this time. A 22-year old male has been arrested in connection to the young woman’s death. Charges are reportedly pending.
