7 people were reportedly shot in North Philadelphia this evening, after a shooter jumped out of a vehicle and sprayed a street corner with multiple shots.

A report from 6-ABC Action News said the shooting happened on the 2800 block of North Bambrey Street at around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

According to police, a vehicle with three people inside was seen pulling up on Somerset Street. At least one suspect got out of the vehicle and fired 17 shots down the block (Bambrey Street).

The seven victims hit by the gunfire were all between the ages of 16 and 46-years of age. All were taken to nearby hospitals where all of the victims were last reported to be in stable condition. Police believe that the shooters purposely fired into a crowd of people as they attempted to gun down their intended target.

Small also said the suspect’s vehicle was captured on a police camera in the area. Small described the vehicle as “a dark-colored four-door sedan, and it has some sort of yellow tape or plastic securing the rear trunk” A possible motive for the shooting was not reported.

No arrests have been made at this time. An investigation is ongoing.
